In Memoriam

In Memory of Sevilay Kaygalak

We lost Sevilay Kaygalak, one of the founders of Praksis, in November 2007, at the age of 35.

She worked on the history of capitalist development in Turkey, urban space, processes of class formation, migration and politics. From the journal’s founding onwards she contributed to the formation of its theoretical line through her writing and her labour.

The article prize established in her name continues each year, supporting young researchers in the field of urban studies.
